Starbucks, the company that (usually) doesn't even have freebies at their grand openings, has launched a gameboard-style contest similar to McDonald's annual Monopoly game.
Here's how it works: Make a purchase at any Starbucks location between now and January 11 using a registered Starbucks gift card to receive a free game piece loaded to your account. Then, visit StarbucksforLife.com and sign into your account. You'll see a gift icon which you can click to open. It may contain an instant win or a game piece to save up for bigger prizes.
But here's the fine print: you don't have to make a purchase to enter. Once logged in to StarbucksforLife.com, simply scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "To enter without making a purchase, click here." You'll put in your address and a game piece will be emailed to you. You can enter up to twice a day...so do it! I've been at it for two days, and thus far I've got one piece towards the coffee for life, one towards coffee for a month, and two towards coffee for a week!
Potential prizes include:
One Million bonus stars
500 Starbucks for a week
125 Starbucks for a month
25 Starbucks for a year
5 Starbucks for life
I've got a Starbucks right down the street, and it's both expensive and addictive. Any of these prizes will make me one happy camper :)
