What could be better than free groceries? If you shop at Wal-Mart, you may be in for a great deal.
Wal-Mart stores around the country are offering a new service: grocery pickup. I've got to admit, I was skeptical. When those orange signs went up, I wondered, is my Wal-mart installing a drive through window?
The answer was, almost. Here's how grocery pickup works. You set up an account with grocery.walmart.com and fill your cart just as you would when shopping at any online retailer. When you check out, however, you select a 1 hour time slot. During that time, you will receive a call that your groceries are ready. When you arrive at Wal-mart, park in a "Pick Up" designated parking spot and call the number on the sign. An associate loads your groceries into your car, and, voila! You're done.
You may be wondering if you will be coming home with cracked eggs and moldy produce, as you didn't pick them out yourself. Have no fear--when my groceries were brought out on my trial run of the service, the assistant manager of the store loaded them and showed me each produce item and opened the egg carton for my inspection. Plus, on the first use of the service, I received complimentary reusable shopping bag full of free samples. You know that won this freebie-hunter over!
But wait, there's more. I promised you $10 worth of free groceries and here it is. If you've never used the pick up service before, follow the steps below to get $10 off your first order.
1. Click this link to access your coupon code. Copy the code so you can paste it to the "Promo Codes" box at checkout
2. After you copy your code, click "Start Shopping." Open your free account, fill your cart, and checkout.
